La Paz Waterfalls are located north of Alajuela and are big, loud, and just amazing. I had the chance to visit the waterfalls during my stay there and the amount of stairs you need to climb was very much worth it; it was only terrible walking back up them. There are about 3-4 different waterfalls you can walk to and each one is worth checking out because some you are able to get up close more than others. The waterfalls are also home to a beautiful hotel, nature park, and wildlife refugee. So you not only get to explore amazing water falls, but they have a butterfly garden, monkeys, tigers, panthers, and many other animals you can check out. During your walk throughout these gardens you can see a plethora of orchids growing because these are very common in Costa Rica and is actually the national flower!
