Gallo Pinto Recipe

One of the staple dishes of Costa Rica is called Gallo Pinto. This dish can be served for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and is either accompanied by fried plantain, over medium eggs, and a nice cup of coffee (breakfast style). When it is served for lunch and/or dinner you can see it accompanied with pork, beef, or chicken. During my two month stay in Costa Rica I ate Gallo Pinto just about every day that I was there and honestly I never once got sick of it. Maybe it is the special sauce that is thrown into it ( more on that in the video) or the fact that it was homemade everyday by my lovely host mother Esme. I recently cooked up the recipe for a few of my friends and they loved it so if you have any friends you want to feed on a budget, try this recipe!
