Although I didn’t have the chance to check out every single National Park in Costa Rica, there were a few that I did visit and were amazing. Here is a list of some of my favorites and why you should highly consider visiting them too when you are planning your trip!
Manuel Antonio: This national park located in the country’s central Pacific Coast, is home to the most beautiful beaches in the entire country! It is also home to some pretty amazing wildlife such as monkeys, sloths, birds, reptiles, and fish.
Arenal: The still active volcano is located in Northwestern Costa Rica in the Alajuela Province. Here you can hike near the volcano, take canopy tours, ride ATVs near the volcano, and relax in the local hot springs! I absolutely loved this place because of how lush and green the nature was and the volcano was a breathtaking site.
Poas Volcano: This inactive volcano was about an hour or so drive from where I was living during my two month stay. Located in the Alajuela Province, this massive crater really showed me just how extraordinary nature can be. You are able to walk up to the edge of the volcano and look down and that drop is not for the faint of heart.
